back to top The New York Pops The New York Pops is the largest independent symphonic orchestra in the United States specializing in popular American music. Founded in 1983 by Skitch Henderson, the New York Pops makes its home at Carnegie Hall. The orchestra also presents free concerts in the parks of New York City through its Summermusic program and tours extensively throughout the world. back to top Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra The Mostly Mozart Festival was launched in 1966 as "Midsummer Serenades: A Mozart Festival" as this country's first indoor music festival. In addition to its New York season, the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra has toured both domestically to notable festivals and venues such as Ravinia, Great Woods, Tanglewood, and the Kennedy Center. The Mostly Mozart Festival also tours on an annual basis to Japan where it is in residence at Tokyo's Bunkamura Arts Center.
